How It All Started
Via 313 was founded by brothers Brandon and Zane Hunt, two Detroit natives who relocated to Austin and found themselves missing the deep, crispy, cheese-edged square pizza of their hometown. What started as a small trailer operation on South Congress Avenue quickly became a city-wide obsession.
The name via313 is a direct nod to Detroit's iconic area code — a heartfelt tribute to the Motor City's rich culinary culture. Every pie we make carries that tradition forward, using steel baking pans, high-hydration dough, and the signature brick-cheese caramelized crust that defines the Detroit style.

Brandon and Zane Hunt park a small trailer on South Congress Ave and serve Detroit-style pizza for the first time in Austin. Lines form immediately — the city has never tasted anything like it.
Via 313 wins its first major award — Best Pizza in Austin from the Austin Chronicle. The recognition sparks city-wide demand and an overnight leap in daily orders.
Via 313 opens its first permanent restaurant in the Violet Crown neighborhood, bringing a full kitchen, expanded menu, and dine-in seating to serve the growing fanbase.
Featured in Food & Wine, Eater National, and Texas Monthly, via313 gains a national reputation as a must-visit Austin food destination and a pioneer of Detroit-style pizza outside Michigan.
We expand our services to include corporate catering, weddings, and events — bringing the full Via 313 experience to offices, festivals, and celebrations across central Texas.
Via 313 grows to five Austin locations including our flagship at 10106 Menchaca Rd, serving the full city with the same quality and passion that started on a single food trailer.
